Crl.MP.No.2506 of 2026 in Crl.A.SR.No.7924 of 2026 A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.

This petition has been filed seeking to condone the delay of 225 days in filing the appeal against the judgment dated 16.04.2025 made in Spl.S.C.No.63 of 2020 by the learned Sessions Judge, Special Court for Exclusive trial of cases under POCSO Act, Chengalpattu.

2. Mr.R.Chellamuthu, learned counsel appearing for the respondent, filed a counter stating that the petitioner-state miserably failed to explain the delay of 225 days in filing the above appeal and hence, he vehemently opposed for allowing this petition.

3. Heard both sides.

4. Satisfied with the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit filed in support of this petition, this petition stands allowed.

5. Registry is directed to number the Criminal Appeal, if the papers are otherwise in order and list the same for admission in due course.
