ORDER

A perusal of paragraph-3 of the counter affidavit filed by the Managing Director of Metropolitan Transport Corporation Limited, Chennai shows that the respondent had commenced the payments to the petitioner and all the eligible terminal benefits along with interest have been paid to the petitioner herein. It is also stated that the respondent has paid the gratuity and provident fund amounts to the petitioner on the date of his retirement itself, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ therefore, the question of paying interest does not arise.

2. However, the rejoinder filed by the petitioner shows that the total amount to be paid is Rs.1,19,033/-.

3. Since there is a claim and counter claim, it is open to the petitioner to seek appropriate remedy before the Labour Court, if so advised, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With this observation, this contempt petition stands disposed of.
