Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to issue patta to the petitioners in respect of the land situated in S.No.77 Kodankudi Village Tittagudi Taluk Cuddalore District on the basis of the written representation made by the petitioners on 14.2.2017. ORDER

(Order of the court was made by HULUVADI G.RAMESH, ACJ.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

2. The writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to issue patta to the petitioners in respect of the land situated in S.No.77 Kodankudi Village Tittagudi Taluk Cuddalore District on the basis of the written representation made by the petitioners on 14.2.2017.

3. It appears that in an earlier writ petition viz., W.P.No.42558 of 2016, this court had directed the authorities to examine some water bodies in the locality of the petitioners herein and take action in respect of encroachments, after giving notice to all the parties concerned. The petitioners, who are not parties to the said writ petition, are before us contending that they are being victimized on the basis of the above said order. They have further contended that they had already submitted several representations including the latest one being dated 14.2.2017 seeking patta for their lands.

4. Therefore, it is for the respondent-authorities to take a decision on the grievance expressed by the petitioner in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity to all the parties concerned. Such exercise shall be done within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till such time, no coercive steps shall be taken against the petitioners.

5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. The connected miscellaneous petition is cosed. Sd/- Asst.Registrar(CS VI) /true copy/ Sub Asst. Registrar ssk.
