By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner made an application to the respondent seeking certain information under Right to Information Act with regard to the properties situated in S.Nos.272/18, 272/19 and 272/20, Kondayirupu Village, Kattumannarkoil Taluk, Cuddalore District. The said application was returned by the respondent, vide impugned order dated 24.3.2015 stating that since the application has been sent to the Tahsildar, it cannot be treated as an application under Right to Information Act.

3. Mr.C.Prakasam, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in that event, the concerned officials should have transmitted the papers to the concerned Public Information Officer. Therefore, return of the said application is not proper and hence, prayed for appropriate orders. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. The Court on the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner has heard the submissions of Mr.S.Pattabiraman, learned Government Advocate.

5. In the result, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 4.3.2015, under Right to Information Act and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible and not later than eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision to the petitioner. No Costs.
