ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent-police to register the petitioner's complaint dated 08.10.2016 and to investigate the same within a time frame.
2. The case of the petitioner is that one Chinnasamy and his wife Malliga created a forged document and registered the property belonging to the petitioner in their favour. Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the Superintendent of Police, Villupuram District, who, in turn, forwarded the same to
the Anti-Land Grabbing Special Cell, Villupuram District for investigation, in connection with which, summons were issued to the parties. Not obeying the instructions stated in the summons, on 08.10.2016, the said Chinnasamy and his wife Malliga went to the petitioner's house and assaulted the relatives of the petitioner, which compelled the petitioner to lodge a complaint dated 08.10.2016 with the third respondent police. The said complaint was received vide CSR.No.576 of 2016 and preliminary enquiry was conducted by the third respondent. However, till date, no case was registered against the persons mentioned in the complaint. Therefore, this Criminal Original Petition.
3. Heard Mr.J.Agni Selvaraju, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.C.Emalias, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the third respondent to hold appropriate enquiry on the petitioner's complaint dated 08.10.2016 and if the allegations made therein discloses commission of cognizable offence, investigate the same and file a final report or close the same as the case may be, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.
5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
