The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the FIR No.568 of 2025 against the petitioners, on the file of the first respondent.
Based on the complaint lodged by the second respondent/de facto complainant, a case in Crime No.568 of 2025 was registered on 26.12.2025 for the offences under Sections 191(2), 296(b), 115(2) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that based on association rivalry, false complaint has been given. He would submit that the petitioners have given a complaint, based on which case in Crime No.567 of 2025 has been registered and only as a counterblast, the present case has been registered against the petitioners.

Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first respondent would submit that it is a case of case and counter; on account of association rivalry, both parties assaulted each other, resulted in registration of two First Information Reports. He would submit that on a complaint given by 2/4
the 2nd respondent, the case in Crime No.568 of 2025 has been registered. He would further submit that the respondent police, by following PSO 566 and also the directions issued by the Full Bench judgment of this Court in T.Balaji & another Vs State reported in 2024 SCC Online Mad 10644, will conduct the investigation in both cases and will file the final report. 5.
Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above, this Court, finding that this is a case of case and counter, without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent police to follow the procedure contemplated under PSO 566 and conduct the investigation in both cases and file the final report within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.
Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 26.02.2026 dsn 3/4
