ORDER

[Order of this Court was made by R.SUBBIAH, J] Petitioner is the grandson of the life convict, viz., S.Panchanathan, aged 76, S/o.Singaiya Devar, (Convict Prisoner No.20222) and has filed the present petition seeking a direction to respondents to grant parole for 90 days to the life convict.

2. Heard learned senior counsel for petitioner and learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for respondents.

3. Learned senior counsel for petitioner submits that the life convict is affected with severe arthritis and skin disease infection and his wife is a chronic diabetic and heart patient. Petitioner submitted a representation to second respondent seeking parole to the life convict for taking care of his wife and to take steps to settle the debts. taken, the present petition has been filed seeking the aforesaid relief.

4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for respondents produced the report of the Probation Officer, in which, it is stated that the life convict may be granted parole.

5. This Court, considering the genuine reason for seeking parole, is of the view that leave could be granted to the petitioner's grandfather/life convict for a period of one month. Accordingly, this Court directs as follows:

(a)Respondents are directed to release the life convict viz., S.Panchanathan, aged 76, S/o.Singaiya Devar, (Convict Prisoner No.20222), now confined at Central Prison, Trichy, on parole for a period of one month i.e., 05.03.2020 to 02.04.2020. (b)The life convict shall be released on 05.03.2020 at 10.00 a.m. and he shall be brought back to the Central Prison, Trichy, on 02.04.2020 at 05.00 p.m.

(c)The life convict is directed to report before the Paravakkottai Police Station daily at 05.00 p.m. during the period of leave.

6. The Habeas Corpus Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
