5. Ragava Balaji .. Respondents Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to dispose the appeal preferred by the petitioners dated 27.02.2014 within the time fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

By consent, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioners challenging the vires of the order of the 3rd respondent cancelling patta issued in favour of the petitioners on the basis of the appeal filed by the 5th respondent on behalf of the 4 respondent, preferred an appeal memorandum dated 27.02.2014 to the 2nd respondent and though it was acknowledged on 28.04.2014, the appeal has not been disposed of and aggrieved by the same, they have filed this writ petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3. Heard the submissions of Mr.C.Veeraraghavan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondents 1 to 3.
4. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioners and without going into the merits of the appeal memorandum, directs the 2nd respondent to dispose of the appeal memorandum dated 27.02.2014, preferred by the petitioners, on merits and in accordance with law, after putting on notice the respondents 4 and 5 and pass orders, as expeditiously as possible and not later than eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and inform the decision taken to the petitioners.
5. The writ petition is disposed of, accordingly. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
