O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to withdraw the lookout circular issued in pursuant to the

registration of the FIR in Crime No.8 of 2023 for the offences under Sections 498(A) and 406 of IPC.

2. The petitioner is an accused in Crime No.8 of 2023 on the file of the first respondent police, registered for the offences under Sections 498(A) and 406 of IPC, based on the complaint lodged by his wife. Pursuant to the registration of the FIR, the petitioner's whereabouts were unknown and as such, the first respondent issued a lookout circular in order to secure him. That apart, now the petitioner seeks permission to visit abroad by having the circular withdrawn. The first respondent has filed final report and the same has been taken cognizance by the Additional Mahila Court, Coimbatore, in C.C.No.111 of 2025.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the first respondent would submit that there is a possibility of the petitioner attempting to leave the country, and if the petitioner is permitted to go abroad, it will be very difficult to proceed with the trial.

4. In view of the above, this Court is not inclined to withdraw the lookout circular issued by the first respondent as against the petitioner.

Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the Trial Court to seek permission to visit abroad for a specific period.
