COMMON ORDER Heard M/s.N.Valliamma, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.J.Shivakumar, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.

2.The petitioner in both the writ petitions are Auto Drivers by profession. The petitioners have applied for auto permits to ply transport auto within the Salem City limits and they have also paid the required fee to the respondent. Since the applications submitted by the petitioners were not considered by the respondent till date, the petitioner is before this Court.

3.It is submitted that the learned counsel for the petitioners that the reason for withholding the applications is on account of the pendency of the writ petition in W.P.No.26379 of 2012 which has been disposed of along with a batch of cases and applications of several other similarly placed persons have been considered by the respondent and orders have been passed recommending the permit.

4.In the light of the above, there will be a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioners' application, if the application is in order and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the writ petitions are disposed of. No costs.
