ORDER
The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner as Junior Fire Supervisor.
2. The petitioner states that the respondent issued a recruitment notification inviting application for selection to the post of Junior Fire Supervisor for ONGC, Karaikal, Southern Sector. The petitioner states that for the said post, the minimum height for the Tribal candidates/Hillmen was fixed as 163 cms and chest of the candidate was fixed as unexpanded 81 cms and expanded 86 cms. The petitioner submitted his application and participated in the process of selection. He was successful in the written examination and subsequently, he was called for physical verification, however, he was not selected.

The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents made a submission that no doubt the petitioner had participated in the process of selection and was successful in the written examination. During the physical verification test, the authorities competent found that the petitioner has not complied with the required height as prescribed in the recruitment notification.
4. In view of the fact that the petitioner was unsuccessful in the physical verification test, he was not selected. That apart, the selection was conducted in the year 2014 and now 8 years have lapsed. During the relevant point of time, the petitioner was unsuccessful as he was not in compliance with the physical standards prescribed in the notification.
5. This being the factum, the writ petition is devoid of merits and accordingly, the same stands dismissed. No costs. Sd/- Assistant Registrar(CS IX) //True Copy// Sub Assistant Registrar hvk To 1.
