PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the respondent authority to give police protection and permission to conduct the Cultural Programme (Adal Padal Nigalchi) in the event of Sri Arulmighu Puthumariamman Temple Festival at Thirumalur, Samudram Village, Edappadi Taluk, Salem District on 29.02.2020 between 7.00 P.M to 12.00 P.M by considering the petitioner's representation dated 17.02.2020.

O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent authority to give police protection and permission to conduct the Cultural Programme (Adal Padal Nigalchi) in the event of Sri Arulmighu Puthumariamman Temple Festival at Thirumalur, Samudram Village, Edappadi Taluk, Salem District on 29.02.2020 between 7.00 P.M to 12.00 P.M by considering the petitioner's representation dated 17.02.2020.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is residing at No.8/42A, Thirumalur, Samudram Village, Edappadi Taluk, Salem District. He further submitted that the petitioner is the President of the Organizing Committee for the temple namely., Sri Arulmighu Puthumariamman Temple. He further submitted that the festival will be conducted on 29.02.2020 and during the said festival cultural programmes also will be held and hence the petitioner has submitted a 1/2 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

representation to the respondent on 17.02.2020 seeking permission and also police protection for conducting the aforesaid festival and also cultural programme on 29.02.2020 at 7.00 P.M to 12.00 P.M. But so far, the respondent has not passed any order on the said representation. Therefore, he requests to direct the respondent to give permission and also police protection for conducting the Temple festival and also cultural programme in the aforesaid temple on the aforesaid date.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has submitted that there are rival groups and hence he requests to direct the respondent to conduct enquiry on the petitioner's representation and dispose of the same in accordance with law.

4. Considering the aforesaid submissions, the respondent is directed to conduct an enquiry on the petitioner's representation dated 17.02.2020 by giving an opportunity to the petitioner and also rival groups, if any, and dispose of the same and inform the result to the petitioner on or before 27.02.2020.

5.With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
