This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to provide light duty to the petitioner on medical grounds based on the representation made by the petitioner on 18.1.2020.

The case of the petitioner is that he was working as a Driver in the respondent corporation. In the year 2018, he underwent a Bye pass surgery and he was on medical leave. After, the petitioner re-joined, he made a request to provide him with a light duty. Initially, the petitioner was posted as Security and thereafter, he was posted as Mechanical Helper. The grievance of the petitioner is that he is not being given any duty from 13.10.2019. The petitioner, thereafter, made a representation dated 18.01.2020 requesting to provide light duty on medical ground. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 3.
Heard, the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondents.

Taking into the consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief that has been sought for in the writ petition, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 18.01.2020 seeking for light duty, on its own merits and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the first respondent along with a copy of the representation dated 18.01.2020 and a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
