Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to trace out the Service Book of the petitioner, make upto date entries therein, fix due seniority of the petitioner in the cadre of Sub-Inspector of Police and refix his pay and consequently consider him for empanelment for promotion as Inspector of Police, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 29.03.2014.

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking direction to the respondent to trace out the Service Book of the petitioner, make upto date entries therein, fix due seniority of the petitioner in the cadre of Sub-Inspector of Police and refix his pay and consequently consider him for empanelment for promotion as Inspector of Police, by considering the his representation dated 29.03.2014.

2.When the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the relief sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous and hence nothing survives for adjudication.

3.In view of the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
