With consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a Writ of Mandamus by directing the Commissioner, Greater Chennai Corporation to dispose of his representation dated 01.11.2016, wherein he has requested to forward his service register from 3rd respondent to 2nd respondent.

3. The claim of the petitioner is that he was appointed on consolidated pay as sanitary worker on 16.10.1999 and has acquired the benefit of confirmation by an order dated 28.02.2006 and he has been working as sanitary worker at Zone X https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

of 1st respondent, Greater Chennai Corporation. It is also his claim that he was promoted as Tax Collector by an order dated 18.05.2012 and posted at Zone V, 2nd respondent herein.

Subsequently petitioner, came to know that his service book was not sent by the Officer belonging to Zone X of 1st Respondent to Zone V Corporation. In view of that, petitioner has not been paid with salary for about five months from May 2012, June 2012, August 2012, September 2012 and October 2012. Only for the month of July 2012 alone salary was paid for the purpose of deducting Professional Tax.

Therefore, petitioner has approached his senior officer both at Zone V and X, on further enquiry, he was informed that his service register has not reached Zone V. In this regard, the petitioner has submitted his representation and the Zonal Officer V in his letter dated 09.11.2012 ,requested the officer of Zone X to forward the petitioner's service book, but, till date, no action is taken, therefore, the petitioner has come to this Court.

4. Mr.R.Arunmozhi, learned counsel, takes notice for the respondents and seeks four weeks time to consider the representation of the petitioner on merits.

5.Considering the limited relief sought for in this petition and without going into the merits of the matter, this Court hereby directs the 1st respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
