ORDER

The writ petition is heard through Videoconferencing, on account of the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

2. Petitioner has sought for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents 1 to 3 to initiate appropriate action against respondents 4 and 5 for illegally arresting, and torturing the petitioner and his wife and two daughters on 22.09.2012 and for indulging in Kattapanchayat with regard to the property of the petitioner in Alamadhi Village, Thiruvallur District.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, there is no representation for the petitioner. Mr.V.Shanmuga Sundar, learned Special Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 states that the prayer sought for by the petitioner is complied with, as action has been taken against the erring Police Officer, namely the fourth respondent and a Government Order in G.O.(D) No.1235 Home (Pol-IV) Department dated 21.10.2019 has been issued in that regard. The statement of the Special Government Pleader is recorded.

4. As there was no representation for the petitioner, consecutively for two occasions, and today also there is no representation for the petitioner, the writ petition is dismissed for non-prosecution. However, there shall be no order as to cost.
