Prayer : Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to consider the petitioner's representations dated 12.08.2022 and 28.07.2025 submitted as per instruction given by 2nd respondent in his letter in Na.Ka.No.7463/ 2022/ Pa.2 dated 18.07.2025 and pass orders in accordance with law providing appointment on compassionate grounds to the petitioner as Junior Assistant or any other suitable post in the Forest Department according to his Educational qualification within the stipulated time frame by this court.

The petitioner seeks for a writ of Mandamus to consider his representations dated 12.08.2022 and 28.07.2025 and provide appointment on compassionate grounds to the petitioner as Junior Assistant or any other suitable post in the Forest Department.
2. The case of the petitioner is that his father, one Thiru.Perumal, who was working in the respondents Forest Department as Forest Guard died on 12.06.2022 while in service. Pursuant to the same, the petitioner being the legal heir of the deceased employee, applied for appointment on compassionate grounds. The application was processed and he was called for a physical endurance test, which he attended, but due to ill health, he could not get through the same. Thereafter, vide letter dated 18.07.2025 the third respondent instructed the petitioner to apply for any other post commensurate with the petitioner's qualification, which he promptly complied with and applied for the
post of Junior Assistant in the respondents Department. Since the petitioner did not get any response, he sent a reminder on 19.11.2025 reiterating his request for compassionate appointment. As the same has not yet been considered, the petitioner is before this Court with the present writ petition seeking the aforesaid prayer.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the respondents are directed to dispose of the representations of the petitioner dated 12.08.2022 and 28.07.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.
5. The learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.
6. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representations of the petitioner dated
12.08.2022 and 28.07.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
