ORDER

This Court, by an order dated 18.2.2014 in W.P.No.4741 of 2014, directed the petitioner to submit a representation to the first respondent within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of that order and on receipt of the same, the first respondent is directed to consider the said representation and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks thereafter. Though the petitioner has given a representation as directed by this Court, the same was not considered. Hence, the present contempt petition has been filed.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation of the petitioner was considered and necessary Government Order was passed in G.O.(3D) No.96 Revenue (Ser-9(1)) Department, dated 12.7.2016, wherein, in paragraphs 5 and 6, it has been observed as follows:-

"5. The Government have carefully examined the proposal of Commissioner of Survey and Settlement and the views of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission and decided to regularise the services of Thiru S.Varadharajan, S/o. (late) Thiru R.Sankar in the post of Draftsman in Kancheepuram District Survey Unit with effect from 23.12.1999 F.N. and order accordingly.

6. The Assistant Director of Survey and Land Records, Kancheepuram is requested to confirm the fitness of Thiru S.Varadharajan to the post of Draftsman."

3. Since the order of this Court has been complied with, I am of the opinion, nothing survives for further adjudication in this contempt petition and hence, the contempt petition is closed. 29.07.2016 sbi
