The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the 1st Respondent to provide police protection to celebrate Ugadi festival by the Petitioner and others on the eve of Ugadi https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

(01.04.2022) and on the day of Ugadi (02.04.2022) for the smooth conduct of the Ugadi festival at Palepalli Sri Gangamman Temple, Palepalli, Krishnagiri District.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, Mr.A.Gokulakrishnan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that there is a dispute between two groups in conducting Ugadi festival at Palepalli Sri Gangamman Temple, Palepalli, Krishnagiri District. Though the Petitioner has been granted permission to conduct temple festival, it has been decided by both the parties that temple festival will be conducted by them alternatively every year and this year, it is for the opposite party to conduct the festival. However he would submit that Respondent will conduct enquiry.

3.Taking into consideration of the fact that there is a dispute between the parties with regard to conducting the festival, the respondent shall conduct enquiry with regard to the same and provide adequate police protection, if necessary.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of.
