PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.12.2023 by taking into consideration the seniority fixed in respect of the Application dated 25.07.2005 in Registration No.72 as early as on 27.06.2008 under self-financing scheme for electricity supply for agricultural purposes in respect of agricultural land comprised in Survey No110/2C situated at Naranapuram Village, Dharapuram Taluk and grant electricity service connection to carry out agricultural activities within a time stipulated by this Hon'ble Court. Mr.L.Jai Venkatesh, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice for the respondents and is armed with instructions to enable final disposal of this Writ Petition, even at the stage of admission.

The prayer of the petitioner is for a direction to the second respondent, Executive Engineer, Tangedco, Dharapuram to consdier his representation dated 29.12.2023 for electricity service connection for agricultural purpose by considering his seniority qua application dated 25.07.2005 bearing registration No.72, filed on 27.06.2008. 2/4
3. The application has been filed under self-financing scheme for electricity supply for agricultural purposes in respect of land at S.No.110/2C situated at Naranapuram Village, Dharapuram Taluk.
4. Mr.Jai Venkatesh would accede to the fact that the application has not only been received but the seniority of the petitioner has been fixed at 124 under proceedings foj vz;/ckpbgh-, &ng-rp/g[j;J}h;-tM-nfh/jdp 080-2023. dated 15.03.2023.
5. Mr.Dhayaleswaran, learned counsel for the petitioner would also agree that the seniority as on the date of communication, which is 15.03.2023, is correct.
6. It is expected that the petitioner's seniority would have moved up the queue over the last one year. Since the application is clearly making headway, let representation of the petitioner for expeditious supply of electricity service connection be considered by R3, Superintending Engineer, Palladam Tiruppur District and disposed, after hearing the petitioner, on merits and in accordance within law and all other applicable Rules and Regulations, within a period of four (4) weeks from date of receipt of a copy of this order. R3 will indicate clearly the time frame within which the service connection will be given to the petitioner.
