PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st and 2nd respondents not to give permission to convene the hunger strike which is going to be held on 25.05.2023 at about 9.30 am to 5.30 pm before the Rajarathinam Stadium, Egmore, Chennai.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents not to give permission to convene the hunger strike which is going to be held on 25.05.2023 at about 9.30 am to 5.30 pm before the Rajarathinam Stadium, Egmore, Chennai.

2. On going through the prayer of the petitioner, this Court is not able to find out, who is convening the hunger strike.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) submitted that, so far no permission is given to convene the hunger strike by private respondents namely 3rd to 6th respondents nor the representation was rejected.

4. In the light of the submission of learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), this Court is of the view that, there is no need to pass orders in this petition.

5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. It is open to the petitioner to approach this Court with appropriate remedy, if at all any permission is granted to private respondents 3 to 6 for convening the hunger strike. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
