ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a writ of Mandamus, directing the 2 nd respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.05.2024 and to refix the pay in the post of Assistant Registrar w.e.f. 01.01.2016 at least so as to avail the benefits of 7 th pay commission within a time frame as fixed by the this Honorable Court.
2. Heard Mr.M.R.Thangavel, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.C.Jayaprakash, learned Government Advocate for the first respondent and Ms.H.Mary Sowmi Rexi for M/s.Isaac Chambers for the 2 nd respondent.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner joined as a Superintendent in the 2 nd respondent University, and pursuant to that, he has been promoted to Deputy Registrar and serving in the said position as of today. It is the submission of the petitioner that the petitioner's seniority has to
be refixed and in this connection, he has sent the representation on 10.05.2024 and the same is yet to be considered by the respondents.
4. At this juncture, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the 2 nd respondent would fairly submit that they would consider the petitioner's representation within a reasonable time.
5. In such view of the matter, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.05.2024 and pass orders on it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
