Prayer : Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Habeas Corpus, to call for the entire records, leading to the detention of the petitioner's husband Manimaran S/o. Prabhu, aged 28years, the detenue herein presently lodged in Central Prison II, Puzhal at Chennai who has been detained under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982 as a "Goonda" vide detention order, dated 06.02.2024 made in Memo No.82/BCDFGISSSV/2024 by the 2nd Respondent herein and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents herein to produce the body and person of the said detenue before this Court and thereafter set him at liberty from Central Prison, Puzhal Chennai. The petitioner herein is the wife of the detenu viz., Manimaran S/o. Prabhu, the detenue, now confined at Central Prison II, Puzhal, Chennai, has come forward with this petition challenging the detention order passed by the second respondent dated 06.02.2024 slapped on her husband, branding him as "Goonda" under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous
Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Forest Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Sand Offenders, Slum Grabbers and Video Pirates Act, 1982 [Tamil Nadu Act, 14 of 1982]. 2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the order of detention passed by the second respondent as against the petitioner's husband, dated 06.02.2024 has been revoked by the Government in G.O.Rt.No.1519, Home, Prohibition and Excise (XIII) Department, dated 14.03.2024 and he has also produced a copy of the said order. 3.Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this petition is dismissed as the same has become infructuous.
