Respondents Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to dispose the petitioner's appeal dated 22.03.2017 against the punishment of Black Mark imposed on the petitioner by the third respondent in P.R.No.93/P.R.South Zone dated 30.11.2016.

ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai, Chennai, the second respondent herein to consider the appeal dated 22.03.2017 filed by the petitioner against the order passed in P.R.No.93/P.R.South Zone dated 30.11.2016 imposing the punishment of "Black Mark". Since the petitioner's appeal is pending for quite a long time, he has been advised to move the present writ petition for early disposal of the appeal pending on the file of the second respondent.

2. Heard the learned Government Advocate for the respondents, who sought sufficient time to consider the pending appeal.
3. This Court, considering the limited prayer, without going to the merits of the case, hereby directs the second respondent to consider the pending appeal dated 22.3.2017 on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
