O R D E R

The petitioner herein apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) Order 1982 read with Section 7(i), a(ii) of EC Act, 1955 in Crime No.29 of 2026, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner is running poultry form and he had colluded with other accused involved in purchasing rice meant for public distribution system and A1 in this case has used it as chicken feed. On prior information, the premises was verified and the rice was seized and the case was registered.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner appeared through video conference and submitted that the petitioner has sufficient bills for the rice purchased in the open market. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that, huge quantity of PDS rice weighing 10980 kgs has been purchased from A3 in this 2/4

case and the petitioner has one previous case similar in nature. Hence, he opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the fact that the huge quantity of PDS rice has been illegally procured and taken to petitioner's poultry form for the purpose of feeding chicken and also the fact that the petitioner has one similar previous case, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
