(Judgment of the court was made by HULUVADI G.RAMESH, J.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the appellant and Mr.P.S.Sivashanmugasundaram, learned Special Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents.

2. The writ appeal has been filed challenging the order of the learned Single Judge dismissing the writ petition filed by the appellant seeking a direction to the respondents to consider his representation dated 31.1.2015 through which he is said to have claimed correction of his date of birth from as 7.10.1963 instead of 4.3.1962 in the service records to get extended period of service by one year and seven months.

It appears that the writ petition was dismissed by the learned Single Judge on the ground of laches that the representation was not submitted within five years of joining in the service and even assuming that he had submitted such representation, he had not explained the reasons for the delay in submitting the representation.

4. We also find that there is no proof for having submitted such a representation. In such a view of the matter, we do not find any scope for interference with the order passed by the learned Single Judge. Therefore, the writ appeal is dismissed. No costs.
