ORDER
By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2.The General Secretary of the petitioner-Sangam would state that the members of the petitioner-Sangam owned agricultural lands and house sites in Amulliavoyal, Vaikkadu, Mathur, Kosapur and Manali Villages and their lands were acquired by the respondents 1 to 4 for the purpose of setting up of Aromatic Complex and other petro-based down stream projects of Madras Refineries Limited (MRL), now Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL).
3.The grievance expressed by the petitioner, is that the other persons, whose lands have been acquired, were provided with alternate sites and though the fourth respondent vide his memo dated 8.7.2013, has convened a meeting for allotment of alternate sites to persons, whose lands have been acquired, nothing had been fructified so far and in this regard, the petitioner had submitted a number of representations followed by a reminder dated 10.1.2015, requesting the respondents to provide them with alternate sites and since those representations have not been responded, came forward to file this writ petition.
4.Heard the submissions of the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, and Mr.Digvijaya Pandian, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepted notice for the respondents. 5.This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner, and without entering upon the merits of the representation, directs the respondents 1 to 4 to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 10.1.2015, on merits and in accordance with law, by taking into consideration the memo in Na.Ka.93/2007 dated 8.7.2013, sent by the fourth respondent, as expeditiously as possible and not later than twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and inform the decision taken to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
