PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to make necessary rectification/correction with respect to the half yearly tax as Rs.7503/- in the property tax register in respect of the property bearing Old Door No.10, New No.2, Zone = 07, Division - 106, bill no.0334, as per the award of the Lok Adalat dated 23.06.2005 made in Lok Adalat Case No.296/LA/2005. ORDER
The prayer sought for in the present writ petition is for a Mandamus, directing the respondent to make necessary corrections to the levy of half yearly tax at the rate of Rs.7503/-, insofar as it relates to the property at Old Door No.10, New No.2, Savarimuthu Lane, Pudupet, Chennai - 600002, which amount has been fixed as per the Award of the Lok Adalat, dated 23.06.2005.
2. Today, when the matter was called, the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent submitted that, in conformity with the Award passed by the Lok Adalat, the half yearly tax pertaining to the petitioner's property has been revised to Rs.7503/-, which is also now reflected in the petitioner's assessment. A copy of the same is produced before this Court.
3. In view of the same, the petitioner may not have any further grievance, since the relief sought for has been met. Accordingly, the present writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
