JUDGMENT

This petition has been filed by the petitioner praying this Court to punish the respondent for wilful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in W.P. No.6969 of 2021 dated 25.11.2021.

2. It is seen from the records that this Court vide its order dated 25.11.2021 had directed to consider the petitioner's representation filed seeking compensation for the damages caused to the petitioner due to the failed family planning operation. Due to the non-compliance of the said order, contempt petition was filed and statutory notice was issued to the petitioner.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned Government Pleader appearing for the contemnor submits that pursuant to the order passed by this

Court, G.O was passed fixing the compensation amount to the tune of Rs.30,000/- to be disbursed to the petitioner. Subsequently, another G.O.(Ms).No.173 was passed on 31.05.2022 enhancing the said compensation amount to the tune of Rs.60,000/- and the said amount will be disbursed in favour of the petitioner.

4. In view of the aforesaid submission of the learned Government Advocate, this Court directs the contemnors/respondent to deposit Rs.60,000/- in favour of the petitioner's 3rd child within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. However, it is open for the petitioner to work out her remedy for other reliefs.

5. Accordingly, this Contempt Petition stands closed with the aforesaid direction.
