ORDER
The relief sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to pay the gratuity amount to the writ petitioner.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the writ petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3. When the writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner submitted that an order dated 05.06.2017 has already been issued, sanctioning the Death-cum-Retirement Gratuity in favour of the petitioner. However, the interest for the belated payment of the gratuity has not been paid. Undoubtedly, the writ petitioner is entitled https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
for interest for the belated payment of gratuity amount and the respondents are bound to consider the same, provided, if the delay was caused at the instance of the department. Hence, the writ petitioner is permitted to submit a representation in respect of his claim regarding interest for the belated payment of gratuity amount within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, and the respondents are directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks thereafter.
With this observation, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
