ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by V.SIVAGNANAM, J.] Seeking a direction to the respondent to produce the petitioner's husband namely Babu, S/o.Krishnan, aged about 55 years before this Court and to set him at liberty, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that her husband Babu went missing from 20.06.2020 and that the police have not taken effective steps to secure him.

3.Today, Mr.R.Boopalan, Sub Inspector of Police, R8 Vadapalani Police Station, Chennai and Mr.G.Muthu, Head Constable, R8 Vadapalani Police Station, Chennai are present. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Vadapalani Police Station Crime No.52 of 2020 has been registered on 14.02.2020 for 'man missing' and the investigation is in progress. During the course of investigation, it came to light that Babu was addicted to liquor.

5.Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Vadapalani, Chennai, to monitor the investigation in Vadapalani P.S. Crime No.52 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenu is secured, he may be produced before the XVII Metropolitan Magistrate, Saidapet, Chennai, under intimation to the petitioner.
