This writ petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct the 1st respondent to grant permission and protection to conduct the Manjuvirattu "k";R tpul;L" program scheduled to be held on 18.03.2026 at Sri Vinayagar, Valli Devasena Udanurai Subramaniya Swami Sri Mariamman Sri Muneeswarar Kovil, situated at Madura Suthukulam Village, Kattagaram, Udayarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 27.01.2026."
2. The petitioner is one of the trustee of temple namely, Sri Vinayagar, Valli Devasena Udanurai Subramaniya Swamy Sri Mariamman Sri Muneeswarar Kovil, situate at Madura Suthukulam Village, Kattagaram, Udayarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District.
3. The petitioner would submit that the village people have decided to conduct temple festival and Manju Virattu. Therefore, the 3/7
petitioner gave a representation to the respondents on 27.01.2026, seeking permission to conduct temple festival and Manjuvirattu on 17.03.2026 to 18.03.2026.
4. The petitioner would submit that till date the respondents have not permitted them to conduct Manjuvirattu. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.
5. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for respondents 2 to 4 submitted that appropriate orders would be passed on the representation of the petitioner as per Circular Memorandum in Rc.007301/Genl.I(l)/2019, dated 09.04.2019, issued by the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai.
6. Heard the learned counsels on the either side and perused the records.
7. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and submissions made by the learned counsels on the either side, the 4/7
petitioner is directed to give undertaking to the 4th respondent that they will ensure that there is no danger to human life or property and that the event is fully secured. The 4th respondent police shall provide adequate protection at the site for the event to be conducted between 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm on 18.03.2026.
8. With the above directions, this writ petitions is disposed of. No costs.
