Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent to consider the seniority of Police officers with regards to promotion for the post of Inspector of Police in consonance with the settled principle of law as well as the principles of natural justice.

The grievances of the writ petitioner is that the Right of Promotion to the post of Inspector of Police in consonance with the Service Rules has not been provided. In this regard, the writ petitioner submitted a representation to the first respondent on 05.06.2018 and the same is yet to be considered.
2. Thus, without going into the merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 05.06.2018 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petitioner is directed to enclose the copy of representation and all the other relevant documents along with the order passed in the present writ petition.
