Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records on the file of the third respondent in proceedings RC.No.A1/7828/2012 RO.No.386/2012 dated 09.10.2012 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to promote the petitioner as Inspector of Police (General) by taking into account the date of his promotion to the post of Sub-Inspector (Armourer) i.e. 22.03.2000 in accordance with law. ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records of the third respondent in proceedings RC.No.A1/7828/2012 RO.No.386/2012 dated 09.10.2012 and to quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to promote the petitioner as Inspector of Police (General) by taking into account the date of his promotion to the post of Sub-Inspector (Armourer) i.e. 22.03.2000 in accordance with law.

2.The learned counsel for both sides are present. 3.When the matter is taken by for hearing, both the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the 1st respondent submitted that the petitioner herein has unfortunately passed away on 27.02.2021 and also produced the Death Certificate dated 21.04.2021 issued by the Registrar (Birth & Death), Avadi Corporation Division - 4.

4.In view of the submission made on either side, this Writ Petition is dismissed as abated. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
