Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to give permission to conduct a festival program schedule to be held on 15.04.2015 to 18.04.2015 in 19th year Chithirai festival of Sri Maha Mariamman Kovil in our village by considering the petitioner's representation dated 10.04.2015. By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner claims that he is one of the residents of Pichanur Village at Ariyalur District and there exists Sri Maha Mariamman temple and during the Tamil month of Chithirai, functions will be conducted between 15.04.2015 and 18.04.2015 and dance programs will also be conducted and in this regard, he submitted a representation on 10.04.2015 to the second respondent praying for appropriate permission and since the petitioner has not been favoured with any response, he came forward to file this writ petition.
3. Heard Mr.S.Gunalan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Pattabiraman, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice for the respondents.

4. Though the writ petitioner has prayed for the larger relief, this Court is of the view that it would be suffice to direct the second respondent to consider and dispose of the representation dated 10.04.2015 submitted by the petitioner on merits within a stipulated time.
5. In the result, the writ petition is disposed of and the second respondent is directed to consider the representation dated 10.04.2015 submitted by the petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
