O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed for a writ of mandamus to grant electricity connection to the petitioner. The petitioner claims that the property in question had been purchased by the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner's father way back in 1992 and the application filed in the year 2012 has not been disposed of.

2.The learned counsel for the respondent submits that the petitioner has not complied with the requirements of the Electricity Supply Code and therefore, unless the petitioner furnishes the required documents, electricity connection cannot be granted to the petitioner.

3.The learned counsel for th petitioner placed reliance on the decision of this court rendered in the case of C.V.Thirugnanam Vs. District Collector, Coimbatore District and others, (2012) 3 MLJ 542. Though elaborate submissions have been made on merits, I am inclined to dispose this writ petition without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case. 4.Respondent is directed to consider petitioner's application dated 03.09.2012 and pass appropriate orders on merits. If there are any defects in the application filed by the petitioner, the responent may call upon the petitioner to rectify the same. Subject to such rectification, and the petitioner satisfy the requirements of the relevant Rules and Regulations of the Respondent/Electricity Board, electricity connection may be granted to the petitioner. Such exercise shall be carried out within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
