Respondents This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Certiorari, calling for the records pertaining to the order of the first respondent herein passed in G.O.(D) No.98, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (E3) Department, dated 3.3.2017, reverting the petitioner from the cadre of Executive Engineer to that of Assistant Executive Engineer and quash the same. O R D E R

The order of reversion issued in G.O.(D) No.98, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (E3) Department, dated 3.3.2017 from the cadre of Executive Engineer to that of Assistant Executive Engineer is under challenge in this writ petition.

2. The writ petitioner was reverted on account of want of vacancy to accommodate the seniors waiting to be posted in the cadre of Executive Engineer.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner now produced an order passed by the first respondent in G.O.(Va) No.213, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (E3) Department, dated 10.4.2017, wherein the order of reversion issued against the writ petitioner was cancelled and the writ petitioner is again posted as Executive Engineer at Arani Sub-Division, Thiruvannamalai District.

4. Pursuant to this order, the writ petitioner joined in the post. In view of the fact that the reversion order was cancelled by the Government and the writ petitioner was accommodated in the post of Executive Engineer, the issue relating to non-availability of vacancy, does not arise at this point of time and in this view of the matter, no further adjudication needs to be entertained in this writ petition. Accordingly, the

writ petition stands closed. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed. 31-07-2017 Speaking Order/Non-Speaking Order.
