Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.03.2015 praying for promotion to the post of Deputy Tahsildar against one of the 5 carry over Scheduled Caste vacancies and grant him all consequential benefits.

ORDER
This writ petition has been filed by Mr.P.Sankaran under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the District Collector, Namakkal to consider his representation dated 13.03.2015, wherein he prayed for promotion to the post of Deputy Tahsildar against one of the 5 carry over Scheduled Caste vacancies.
2.Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner in support of his prayer drawing notice of the Court to a proceeding dated 28.11.2013 bearing Roc.No.25597/2013/A2 issued by the District Collector, Namakkal submitted that when there are five vacancies reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates, the petitioner who has passed the departmental test required for promotion to the post of Deputy Tahsildar being eligible, could have been considered. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3.Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader taking notice for the respondent submitted that the pending representation made by the petitioner may be directed to be considered on merits.
4.Recording the statement made by the learned Special Government Pleader, this Court without looking into the merits of the case of the petitioner, accepting the limited prayer to consider his representation, hereby directs the District Collector, Namakkal to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.03.2015 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
