O R D E R

This petition has been filed to transfer the investigation pending in Crime No. 208 of 2022 on the file of the 2nd respondent to any other officer or agency, to investigate the matter as per law and file a final report within a stipulated time frame.

2. The petitioner married one Sankar in 2011. There was an illegal relationship between Sankar and another woman, and as a result, he ill-treated the petitioner's daughter and also tortured her. On 03.11.2024, a quarrel occurred between the petitioner's deceased daughter and her son-in-law, during which he beaten her. Subsequently, she was pushed into a water tank, and due to drowning, she died.

3. On the complaint, the 2nd respondent registered the F.I.R. in Crime No.208 of 2022 under Section 174 of Cr.P.C. Initially, it was believed that she had committed suicide by jumping into the water tank. However, during the investigation, it was found that it was an act of abetment to suicide, and as a result, the petitioner's son-in-law was arrested and remanded to judicial custody and the investigation is still pending.

4. At this stage, transferring the investigation to another agency would affect the entire investigation already carried out by the 2nd respondent. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to transfer the investigation in Crime No.208 of 2022 from the file of the 2nd respondent to any other investigating agency.

5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. The 2nd respondent is directed to complete the investigation and file the final report within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if it has not already been filed.
