When this matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the University of Madras, placed the written instructions received from the Registrar of the University of Madras. The relevant portions are extracted hereunder :

"Based on the direction of the Hon'ble High Court of Madras dated 04.08.2025, the financial particulars of the Pensioners/Family Pensioners have been forwarded to the Directorate of Audit General, Nandanam along with the respective 272 service registers of the individual to verify the amount and to rectify the defects, if any. The staffs from the University of Madras is also deputed to the Directorate of Audit General to speed up the work. The said work is under process at the office of the Directorate of Audit General, Nandanam. Based on the output received from the Directorate of Audit General, Nandanam, the final settlement amount will be calculated for the Pensioners/Family Pensioners. After the receipt of the final report from the Directorate of Audit General, Nandanam, Chennai and the settlement amount derived by the University of Madras, the same will be furnished to the Hon'ble High Court of Madras. We respectfully request the Hon'ble Court to provide six weekstime to furnish the entire details."
