O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to pay interest for the delayed payments made to the petitioners in respect of Gratuity, Commutation, leave surrender, provident fund and earned leave.

2. In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it had been stated that the petitioners have originally joined the respondent Corporation and thereafter had retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation. It is stated that though the retirement benefits were 2/4

settled, they have been settled belatedly. By this writ petition they claim interest for the belated payment.

3. A direction is issued to the respondents to examine the Service Records of the petitioners and examine whether plausible reason had been given for the belated payment and if there is no reason given, the respondents shall pay interest @ 6% p.a. for the belated period from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursement. Such disbursement should be made within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed. 28.02.2025 dpq Index: Yes/No Speaking order / Non speaking order 3/4
