No representation for the petitioner. The present petition has been filed to direct the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at Egmore to expedite the trial in C.C.No.1044 of 2015.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) would contend that the petitioner Umesh @ Umesh Balaravindran @ Shorty is a Sri Lankan National and a Non-Bailable Warrant is pending against him in C.C.No.1044 of 2015 on the file of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai. The present petition has been filed by the petitioner for speedy trial in C.C.No.1044 of 2015. When the Non-Bailable Warrant is pending against the petitioner, it is not known as to why he has filed the present petition for speedy trial of the case in C.C.No.1044 of 2015. However, in the interest of justice, the learned Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai is directed to take appropriate steps and direct the police to execute the Non-bailable warrant against the petitioner. the accused could not be secured within a reasonable time, the learned Judicial Magistrate should proceed further as per law. With the above observation the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
