Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the application of the petitioner towards selection process for the post of Home Guard submitted along with representation dated 18.01.2024 which the petitioner already applied through online on 01.11.2023.

ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents to consider the application of the petitioner towards selection process for the post of Home Guard submitted along with representation dated 18.01.2024 which the petitioner already applied through online on 01.11.2023.
2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3. As per the notification issued by the respondents dated 27.10.2023 for recruiting 420 post of Home Guard (male) in the Police Department, Puducherry, the petitioner had applied for the same. As per the notification, the method of recruitment to the post of Home Guard (male) includes, (i) Physical Standard Test, (ii) Physical Efficiency test and (iii) Written Test. According to the petitioner, he had applied for the said post and he was not issued any hall ticket for any of the tests.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the application was not at all submitted by the petitioner for the said post. The petitioner also failed to produce any acknowledgment for submitting his application.
5. It is seen that now the entire selection process has been almost completed and the respondents are yet to publish the selection list. At this stage, the representation submitted by the petitioner cannot be considered and this writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed.
6. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs. 27.02.2024 Internet: Yes Index : Yes/No Speaking/Non Speaking order mn
