ORDER

This writ petition has been filed praying for a direction to provide adequate police protection to petitioner as envisaged under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 and to safeguard life and property by directing the 1st and 2nd respondent police to forthwith execute and implement the eviction order passed by the Revenue Divisional Officer in Na.Ka.No.7445/2024/A4 dt. 03.01.2025, confirmed by the District Collector vide order dt. 06.11.2025 in Sae.Mu.Na.Ka.No. 769/A1/2025, Chennai by evicting the 3rd respondent from the premises.

On perusal of records, it is revealed that the petitioner's husband filed petition before the Revenue Divisional Officer under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. It was allowed and the third respondent was directed to vacate the premises mentioned in the said petition and to hand over the vacant possession to the petitioner's husband. Aggrieved by the same, the third respondent

filed appeal and the appellate authority i.e. Distict Collector, Chennai directed the third respondent and the sister to pay a sum of Rs.5,000/- as monthly maintenance to the petitioner since in the meanwhile, the petitioner's husband died. Accordingly, the third respondent is now paying a sum of Rs.5,000/- as monthly maintenance. 3.

Recording the above, this writ petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
