The grievance of the writ petitioner namely Sri Lakshminarayana Swami Bhaktha Bhajana Brindham - Sri Thirumalai Tirupathi Paadhayatrai Sangam represented by its Secretary

Shri.Varadarajan is that the respondent/ HR & CE Department had not conducted Kumbhabishegam in the Lakshmi Narayan Perumal temple, Villivakkam Road, Lakshmipuram, Chennai - 600 099.

2. It is stated that the said temple had been in existence for more than 100 years in the area and hence the area itself is called Lakshmipuram in honour of the deity Lakshminarayana Perumal. The previous Kumbhabishegam had been conducted on 11.05.2005. It is stated that the Kumbhabishegam has to be conducted once in every 12 years. It is stated that since the Kumbhabishegam had not been conducted, a representation had been given on 18.02.2020, seeking the respondent's assistance in conducting Kumbhabishegam. They also sought to increase the height of the temple by 5 feet.

3. Heard Mr.B.Srikrishnan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Karthikeyan, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader stated that a considered order would be passed on the basis of the representation.

5. It is made clear that prior to passing any order, the respondent may issue notice to the petitioner herein, hear the petitioner and also any other person interested and thereafter, conduct Kumbhabishegam in proper manner and in accordance with religious requirements. The representation of the petitioner should be disposed of on or before 15.03.2020.

6. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
