When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that the petitioner has been detained under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982 and the detention order is still in force.

In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), this Court is not inclined to entertain this bail application by taking note of the fact that, even if this Court is inclined to grant bail to the petitioner with conditions, the petitioner will not be in a position to comply with the same.

Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed with a liberty to file a fresh application after revocation of the detention order.
