Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of habeas corpus against the order passed by the 2nd respondent in D.O.No.17/2014-C2 dated 14.07.2014 directing the respondents to produce the detenu Sankar, S./o Sadaiyan, aged about 37 years, who is now confined at Central Prison, Vellore Before this Court. O R D E R

The petitioner, who is the wife of the detenu, Sankar, Son of Sadaiyan, aged about 37 years, has come forward with this petition challenging the detention order passed by the 2nd respondent dated 14.07.2014 against her husband branding him as a "Bootlegger" under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Forest Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Sand Offenders, Slum Grabbers and Video Pirates Act, 1982 [Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982].

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the order of detention passed by the 2nd respondent as against the husband of the petitioner dated 14.07.2014 has been revoked by the Government in G.O. [Rt] No.4187, dated 27.08.2014 and he has also produced a copy of the said order.
