..Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent, namely the Joint Commissioner of Labour - II (i/c), Chennai to expeditiously dispose of the compensation claim filed by the petitioner under the Employees' Compensation Act, 1923 in Case No.B1/2681/2024 arising out of the fatal accident to Thiru B. ORDER

This writ petition is filed to direct the first respondent, namely the Joint Commissioner of Labour - II (i/c), Chennai to expeditiously dispose of the compensation claim filed by the petitioner under the Employees' Compensation Act, 1923 in Case No.B1/2681/2024 arising out of the fatal accident to Thiru B. Murali on 02.04.2024 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. In view of the innocuous nature of the relief that is prayed for, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage. Notice is not ordered to the second respondent. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter.

3. When the matter came up for admission, the learned Special Government Pleader taking notice on behalf of the first respondent, would submit that if appropriate time is given, the first respondent will dispose of the matter.

4. In view thereof, the writ petition is disposed of on the following terms: The case in B1/2681/2024 filed by the petitioner under the Employees' Compensation Act, 1923 shall be taken up for expeditious disposal by the first

respondent and orders shall be passed in accordance with law, in any event not later than three months from the date of receipt of the web copy of the order. No costs.
