ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent police to give police protection and permission to conduct the cultural programme at Pulavarpalayam Arulmigu Sree Bagavathiamman Temple ground on 27.03.2017 in the event of Kerambur Arulmigu Sree Mariamman Temple festival, Namakkal Taluk and District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 16.03.2017. 2.It is the grievance of the petitioner that he has submitted a representation dated 16.03.2017 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct Cultural Programme at Pulavarpalayam Arulmigu Sree Bagavathiamman Temple ground in the event of Kerambur Arulmigu Sree Mariamman Temple festival, Namakkal Taluk and District, to be held on 27.03.2017. However, the respondent denied the permission to conduct the programme. Hence, this petition.

3.Though the petitioner sought for permission to conduct "cultural programme", learned counsel for the petitioner restricted the same to the extent of conducting Orchestra, for which, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent has raised no serious objection.

4.In view of the submission so made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.03.2017 and grant permission to the petitioner to conduct Orchestra at Pulavarpalayam Arulmigu Sree Bagavathiamman Temple ground in the event of Kerambur Arulmigu Sree Mariamman Temple festival, Namakkal Taluk and District, scheduled to be held on 27.03.2017, subject to usual conditions. It is made clear that this Court has not granted any direction to conduct "Adal Padal Nigazhchi / dance programme" in the name of "cultural programme".
