Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to take appropriate action on the representation submitted by the petitioner Association on 21.06.2016 requesting for extension of benefits granted to the Teachers and Staff of Government School to the teachers and Staff of Government Aided Schools in the Union Territory of Puducherry as explained in the said representation dated 21.06.2016 and pass appropriate orders thereon within a time limit to be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to the first respondent to take appropriate action on the representation submitted by him on 21.06.2016 requesting for extension of benefits granted to the Teachers and Staff of Government School to the Teachers and Staff of Government Aided Schools in the Union Territory of Puducherry as explained in the said representation dated 21.06.2016.

2.Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that if a direction is given to consider the petitioner's representation, no prejudice would be caused to the respondents. 3.Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents sought four weeks time to consider the petitioner's representation.

4.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and

the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

5.In the light of the limited relief sought for in the writ petition, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.06.2016 and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
